Hello Team captains and Reps,
I will be bringing your monthly updates on how the leagues are progressing and any critical issues that may need your attention. This update is only meant to share observations that I believe will help us improve our cricket and that in turn will help the standards of cricket in our league. Both Premier (40 overs) & Super (30 overs) league got away last month with some exciting new teams and formats. I welcome again the new teams in both leagues that have joined us and happy to see new talent on display in the league games.
* Games start times
Game start time is 10.30am for both leagues, but teams can start early or later with mutual agreement among them selves. It is important to notify the umpiring teams of any such changes also. I encourage teams to use the contact lists provided in the team binders and also listed on the website rather than calling the execs for such issues. In case all efforts fail, we are here to help. If visiting teams are running late, contact the host captain not the league execs. Email for your executives: bacaexecs@gmail.com
* Umpiring
Emails are sent out every week to teams that are assigned to umpiring that week to get names and confirm umpirings so that games can go out with out problems. I request all captains/reps to respond in timely manner so that arrangements can be made accordingly. Any questions or feedback about assigned umpiring can be sent to Subramanian Seshadri at sseshad1@yahoo.com.
* Scheduling
In the beginning of the season, scheduling takes up lots of efforts and some times it takes a while to pull it all together. Minor changes here and there due to unforeseen circumstances are made in the first month but everyone affected is always notified. Last minute issues with ground availability , etc do happen but we expect all host teams to notify of any such situations at the earliest instead of waiting till the last moment. Another reminder that any rescheduling of games can only happen with mutual consent and before the 72 hours courtesy window. Any questions with scheduling Jaswinder at jaswindersingh81@yahoo.com
* Clothing
The Premier league is played in full white/cream attire and the Super league is played with the individual color Tshirts and white pants. We encourage all teams to follow the dress code to set some good examples in our league. For example on the opening day of the Premier season all members Milpitas Cricket Club were dressed on nice white pants and Tshirts which bodes good for the team and the league. We all would like to play good cricket and having proper attire including shoes is important part of it. Umpires and team captains are requested to provide feedback to this the umpiring committee.
* ScoreSheets
All winning teams are required to mail in the scoresheets within 7 days of the game. Please send your White Copy of score sheet by Wednesday at Ali Shah c/o BACA 819 Wyman Way# 1 San Jose, CA 95133.
The new website will launched within a few days and teams will be required to also entered directly and also mail the original for confirmation. Questions about score sheets email Gurvinder at gurvi15@yahoo.com
* League website and forum
We are making all efforts to keep the league website and forum up to date. All teams are asked to post their game results on the appropriate parts of the forum. Also I encourage you all to be part of any ongiong discussion or start one at the forum. All teams are welcomed to post any game pics, interesting bits related to cricket on the forum. More the forum is used, more traffic is diverted to the site which gives us a chance to attract some sponsorships. Any views / comments about this can be sent to Kulwant at virdik@yahoo.com
* News on regional & national front

Kulwant Virdi became a selector for the senior North West Region team.
